Ma Haiyan, a doctor of translation, a visiting scholar of Manchester University, UK, and a top talent in Hainan Province, is currently a professor, master's supervisor, and vice president of the School of Foreign Languages of Hainan Normal University, and the executive director of the School of International Language Services of Hainan Normal University.

Social part-time jobs include a member of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, executive director of the Cognitive Poetics Branch of the National Comparative Literature Society, expert in standardized translation and writing of foreign languages in Hainan Province, vice president of the Hainan Translation Association, and director of the Hainan Comparative Literature and World Literature Society.

Research interests include translation theory and practice, translation teaching, language services, and cognitive linguistics. Published more than 30 academic papers, published more than 10 monographs, editors, and textbooks, presided over and participated in more than 10 provincial and ministerial level projects, and presided over the construction of national first-class undergraduate majors (translation majors) and the national first-class undergraduate course "Translation Theory and Practice".
